About

Holy Hell it's been a long time. Some updates-

* I never did finish any of those first projects. I have a ton more fabric than necessary bagged up and stashed in various places around my house. I have, however, sewn some things. Most notably cute little toys I sent to J when she was out of town which she loved because they were homemade!

* Christmas is right around the corner. I'm done shopping for J, I bought a Disney AP for Denis and a variety of other things and I'm not sure my family is doing much beyond a secret Santa type thing. This is completely new to me as far as family gifting goes but not gonna lie, pretty thrilled that all I'd have to do is shop for maybe 3 more gifts for loved ones and then focus on gifts for charity trees. We're mostly decorated around here but we've got to get our tree still. J will actually not be here on Xmas so our season is going to be extended by about a week so I'm completely not feeling guilty about the little bits of extra decor I've been buying here and there.. it's all been pretty affordable, really.

* I made an extremely adorable Halloween wreath out of a pool noodle. Yes, a pool noodle. Thank you pinterest! Now I'm hooked. Just picked up supplies for a winter wreath at the $ store and am seriously considering etsying wreaths as they are fun to make and I think would be relatively light/cheap to ship.

That's a little owl in the middle.

* I've been doing mostly gluten free here for a week or so. I did it for about 2-3 weeks before but wasn't allowing myself any (I don't have an allergy) and let's face it, I enjoy a lot of things that have gluten so I wasn't successful. I think my plan now is much more realistic... I eat it at dinner time only a few times a week and also will allow myself some if we have special events or am at Disney or somewhere else like that. Basically, if I'm a guest or at a foodie type thing it's okay, otherwise just some here and there. Grocery bills have dropped bc although I"m buying more veggies and nuts I'm spending WAY less on frozen fake meat type foods bc guess what? They all have gluten.

* I joined Gwynnie Bee. It's basically netflix for clothes. I may start posting reviews here, maybe not. I have been thinking about starting a seperate blog for fashion/subscription boxes/ makeup type things and keeping this more for the personal/craft/fitness/food thing it's basically been since conception. Once upon a time I had hopes for starting a food critic blog. I'd still enjoy that but if my dining adventures back in Sarasota didn't make me post I'm not sure it's for me. Also was thinking being pescetarian and now interested in GF I'd have less to write about but I realize this is likely a niche market that'd be just as popular.

So long,
Christine
